Going On A Multi-Day Camping Trip? Rent A Canoe To Add To The Fun

Posted on

If you have gone camping in the past with your family, you may know that your spouse and kids love everything about the experience. But, after going on trips in which you hike and drive to the camping destination, you may want to mix things up by renting and using a canoe instead.

Buying and transporting a canoe to your starting destination requires a lot of time, effort, and money, so you will appreciate being able to rent a canoe and start using it right away. You may have to get a little creative, but you can use the canoe as part of your multi-day camping trip.

Lakes and Rivers

A huge advantage that comes with having a canoe while you go camping is being able to ride down slow rivers and go on any lakes that you come across. For instance, you may end up picking up the canoe next to a river and be able to take it all the way down to your camping destination.

By using a canoe, you can easily pull to the side of the river, secure your canoe, and explore the surrounding area or set up a picnic area for your family to enjoy a meal together.

Camping Gear

If you do not have much experience with using canoes or kayaks, you may not be sure which one to rent for your camping trip. But, you will benefit from renting a canoe, especially for a multi-day camping trip because it will have so much more storage capacity to take camping gear. You should be able to fit a tent, food, sleeping bags, and cooking supplies without a problem.

While you will have some storage space to use with a kayak, you might have to leave items behind in your vehicle or try to take it all by stuffing everything into backpacks.

Seat Capacity

Another advantage of a canoe for a lengthy camping trip with your family is the seat capacity. A kayak can only fit two people comfortably, but a canoe can fit a family inside. This will allow you to rent one canoe where you and your spouse will be next to your kids the whole time. A canoe is easy enough to operate that you can show your kids how to row and let them have a try.

By renting a canoe, such as from Tennessee River Blueway, you can have a unique and fulfilling camping experience with your family.
